In the frames of the project
"Towards the peaceful and tolerant Crimean society through the monitoring
current laws of Ukraine on indigenous peoples and minority groups, their
implementation and the involvement of these groups in decision making
process" supported by International Renaissance foundation Regional Resource
Agency Crimea-Perspective and Crimean Tatar Lawyers League "Initium" have
conducted training for members of monitoring group. The training took
place in Simferopol on September, 9, September, 17-18, 2004. The monitoring
group consists of representatives from each Crimean region - 22 persons.
This group will meet every 3 months for discussing of results.

Project "Towards the peaceful and tolerant Crimean society through the
monitoring current laws of Ukraine on indigenous peoples and minority
groups, their implementation and the involvement of these groups in decision
making process". The aims of the project includes:
- improve organizational professionalism of human rights NGOs and local
leaders in conducting monitoring activities in the Autonomous Republic
of Crimea;
- to develop the monitoring network of discrimination and intolerance
towards ethnic groups in Crimea;
- to spread different mechanisms of influencing decision making of public
institutions (Involvement of representatives of ethnic communities in
decision making process on local and regional levels).
